Sturgeon Bay leaders include vaping, e-cigarette products in updated smoking ordinance

STURGEON BAY – Sturgeon Bay leaders extended city smoking regulations to cover vaping and e-cigarettes at their meeting Tuesday.

Smoke-free areas will clearly prohibit devices, like the popular e-cigarette brand Juul.

The council had a first reading of the ordinance, but it’ll come before the group one more time before it becomes official. Alderpersons unanimously approved the first reading, and there was no discussion about it, so it will very likely pass again.

Smoking of all kinds is prohibited at all enclosed spaces, specifically childcare centers, inpatient health care facilities, along with county- and city-owned buildings, among others.
